Make a reading connection with your child

It is often difficult to know what your child is thinking about. One way to get clued in is by looking through magazines (or an online newsfeed) together. Notice which articles catch your child's attention. Is it the subject matter or the photographs? Discuss what interests your elementary schooler and why. Reading together this way helps you stay up-to-date both on interests and how your child thinks.
