Ask your child to communicate in writing

When children are just beginning to write, they concentrate on correctly forming each letter. Later, they must also learn to focus on clearly communicating their ideas. To provide some practice, ask your elementary schooler to communicate with you in writing. You might have your child write out step-by-step instructions for doing something, for example. When you follow the directions exactly, your child will find out just how clear the communication was.
