    Math Vocabulary 

    • multiplication - an operation used to find the total number of items in equal-sized groups
    • product - the answer to a multiplication problem
    • factor - numbers that are multiplied together to get a product
    • multiple - the product of the number and any other whole number (e.g. 0, 4, 8, 12, etc. are multiples of 4)
    • quotient - the answer to a division problem
    • dividend - the number you divide in a division problem
    • divisor - the number you divide by in a division problem
    • remainder - the amount left over that will not divide equally into the given number of groups

    • anemometer - a tool for measuring wind speed
    • barometer - a tool for measuring atmospheric pressure
    • climate - average weather conditions for a region year after year
    • map - a drawing or picture that shows important features in an area

    • predict - to tell about in advance, especially on the basis of special knowledge
    • rain gauge - a tool that measures the amount of rain at a location
    • regional - affecting a particular region
    • temperature - how hot or cold something is
    • weather instruments - tools used for recording various aspects of the weather
    • weather patterns - different phases of weather such as cold, hot, storms, rain, and snow
    • wind vane - a tool that shows wind direction
